Who are we?

My name is Ben Mackinnon.

I am passionate about helping others regain their lost strength and mobility in both physical health and in mental fortitude as well as help others explore their innate human potential.

I have been working a Physical Trainer since 2001, a Massage Therapist since 2002, and a 500 + Yoga Teacher in Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin since 2016 as well as being a Registered Nurse with specialty in Mental Health and lifestyle planning.

I am an avid Lucid Dreamer and Dream Yoga practitioner and have been Lucid Dreaming actively for 40 years and teaching for over 10 years.

Group Workshops and Retreats

Modern Buddha offers workshops and multi day personal transformation retreats in Stress Reduction, Sleep Education, Yoga, Inversions and Arm Balances Pranayama, Meditation and Lucid Dream and Sleep Practises.

These unique workshops retreats are an opportunity to delve deep into practically discovering your own innate potential both physically and mentally.

To achieve clients retreat goals we use a combination of physical, asana practises, traditional conditioning training, breath work, pool training, dream work, meditation, group exercises, lectures and 1:1 consultations.

Lifestyle Planning and 1:1 Coaching

Modern Buddha offers tailored one on one coaching for those looking to accelerate their personal practices. We offer programs both in person and via video calling suited to your unique lifestyle needs. Programs range from stress management and imrprioving sleep and recovery utilising both a western scientific and eastern yogic approach.

Due to my extensive mental health and counselling background as well as work in emergency services and nursing we also offer our unique Transitional Coaching. This is focused on individuals who, due to challenging life circumstance, are moving from one profession to another or to another way of life and are looking for guidance and help in identifying what would really bring them joy in this new phase of their lives and how to implement these changes.

I also specialises in PTSD and yogic techniques to help manage sub acute symptoms.
